Flying to Montreal

Post by WeatherMaster »

Hi I may be flying into Montreal (CYUL) mid March and then driving up to Piedmont from there. I was wondering if any locals could tell me if there is a IFR airport closer to Piedmont that might work better for a shorter drive?

Thanks in advance

CSE4 would be the closest IFR strip.

If it worked with the DZ and it's open, weather permitting you could shoot the approach into CSE4 and break off for CSN3, with it being the absolute closest to piedmont

Thanks.....ya that could work but CSN3 is gravel so staying away from that. Also it would only save maybe 15 minutes on the drive. Plus might be nice to get a hangar if weather is poopy. I think back to plan A, lol. Thanks for the input cheers!

Lachute is a great airport to visit just for its own sake: big, active GA community, lots of on-field businesses (including a good paint/interior shop), and they at least used to have loaner bicycles for riding into town to get ice cream.
