Now here's a real jet engine

GE90 makes some cool sounds(best heard from first class). Always growls on start, sometimes make even more of a growl at climb thrust but not always, and a sort of hollow/whistling sound at certain power settings on approach. Now that I think about it...when it is just spooling up for takeoff is another different cool sound.

Those 22 carbon blades twist 90 degrees from root to tip.

Looks so goofy the way it's mounted, but that is one massive engine. They really dropped the ball on the promo video though. I'd love to actually hear the sound of the engine spooling up instead of some stupid rock music.
