Your Captain
Just as a parallel thread to the one about F/O's, how about stories/experiences/comments about Captains you've flown with. The good, the bad & the ugly.
What characteristics/traits did you like or dislike in a Captain?
I always appreciated Captains that allowed me to gain experience by 'doing'. They would offer suggestions and comments at times along the way, but mostly let me think things through and make decisions. They understood and respected that I was capable, like them, just less experienced.
When I became a Captain I tried to take those things I most liked and incorporate them into my 'style'.

Yeh, shitdisturber she did.
What happened was I was standing behind the wheel of a DC3 having a piss and she walked up without me hearing her, she took one look before I got it back in my pants and it was love at first sight.
Anyhow she makes more money than any of us pilots...so there...

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Every time I meet a potential sugar momma, the conversation switches to "Top Gun" and was that what made me want to fly. I say no, I was flying before the movie came out. But funny you should mention that movie because I am the guy flying rubber dog doo-doo outta Hong Kong. That's usually the end of my momma.
I wonder if I should just put that on a t-shirt and get it over with?

It's better to break ground and head into the wind than to break wind and head into the ground.
