ORNGE Vs. Air Bravo

Interested in some information regarding the ups and downs on each.
Specifically working conditions, salary for Captains and time off.
Profitable experience career wise and financially from anyone who's familiar with the operators?

There was a boom of hiring in the airlines so now there is a shortage of pilots in the smaller operators including ornge. But if you're happy with scheduled shifts, benefits, pension and decent pay flying good equipment then ornge is for you.

Air bravo contracts for ornge also.

Possible benefit of Air Bravo over Ornge is that Ornge is a fixed shift of 12 to 14 hours, you have to be at the base for that length of time. Whereas I believe Air Bravo is an on-call situation, so you dont have to just go and sit there at the base.

Pros and cons to that, depends which your prefer.

Yes, you have to report for your scheduled shifts, when you're off you're off.
Ornge shifts are 12hrs. 14hrs if needed for finishing a call. You may duty out sometimes away from base.
You won't get tired of sitting and are still getting paid!
Uniforms paid for, expenses when dutied out.

Thunder was/is arguably the best contractor operation for Ornge flights, much better reputation than Bravo. They are worth taking a look at too.

I’ve done both fixed schedules and the 24 hrs on call and with the “resetting while on duty” nonsense that used to or still does dominate that world, I’d go for the scheduled shifts any day of the week, but that was my personal preference based on personal experience. If you have the time in the logbook for either, compare apples to apples...pension, equipment, pay, time off, overtime, lifestyle, training, what’s paid for or what’s not by the company, etc. I’m sure you’ll make the decision that suits you best.

Awesome. I get it now. Ornge is better "bigly"! Also I spelled "infinitesimally" wrong just there, so hoisted by my own petard and since you already "quoted" it, I can't edit it without getting caught. Oh well we all get what we deserve.
