705/703 Mixed Flight Time Restrictions

Post by nwopilot »

Hello,

When flying 705 you are restricted to 40 hrs within previous 7 days.
When flying 703 you are restricted to flying 60 hrs within previous 7 days.
When flying recreationally there are no restrictions.

This makes sense, but here is where it gets a little fuzzy:

Example 1: Between Feb 01-Feb 07 I fly 35 hours on a 705 aircraft, also during this time period I fly 15 hours on a 703 aircraft. Is this legal?

Example 2: Between Feb 01-Feb 07 I fly 35 hours on a 705 aircraft, also during this time period I fly 10 hours for fun in my own personal aircraft. Is this legal?

It depends on the order in which you did your flying. You have to be legal for the flight you are about to do. You could do 40 hours of 705 flying followed by 20 hours of 703 in 7 days but not the reverse. As soon as you hit 40 hours in any aircraft in 7 days you cannot fly any 705 aircraft. As soon as you hit 60 hours in any aircraft you cannot fly 703. You may continue flying personally but would have to be below 40 hours (in the last 7) in any aircraft before commencing a 705 flight again.

tired of the ground nailed it. It doesn't matter what the flying you just did was, be it 705/704/703/702/604 or private, you can't exceed the limits for x amount in the previous Y timeline.
