just a type course to sign off a turbine powered helicopter, however an amo may require more experience than just the type course before issuing ACA. Shouldn’t be hard to get these days. You’ll need to get an M1 for anything piston/small

Get a job at a helicopter operation, they send you on a type course and that is it no separate license anymore.
I am not sure how the job market is for helicopter AME's but for fixed wing there are lots of openings

High demand for engineers in rotary especially if you have a flexible schedule and dont mind field work

Best is to apply for a rotary job, you'll usually need 6 months on type to get a signing authority and you'll need to apply for an m1 if you want to work on the smaller ones. It's a little convoluted when it comes to commercial aircraft but really not that hard if you're capable.
Regardless, you'll need to get some experience before you get the big bucks.
