That's ok, the problem will solve itself. Once Brexit happens, nobody with money will be going there anymore anyway.

Strange tactics though, for an island.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Silly little people - if it happened they would land in Scotland because they could be separate and barring that flip across from Europe or Ireland in their private helicopters. Political bullshitting but then again all politics is

It won’t happen in Canada because there’s a company in Quebec which makes these. ;)

But seriously, it’s not envy. I don’t envy the lifestyle of people who demand the APU run for hours on end so it’s ready for when they might show up, forcing the pilot to keep uploading fuel to meet their requirements.

But rather than bans, look at alternatives. Have shore power that will keep a private jet powered and heated or cooled off an electrical grid. Work on electric taxiing or a hybrid power system. Have a progressive carbon tax based on individual use. If you use more than, say, a tanker truck worth of fuel a year... most of us wouldn’t know the difference... but they’d be able to pay a higher premium.

And maybe new business opportunities might arise. Maybe airlines could set aside an area for boardrooms or luxury apartments which the rich could lease. Maybe larger aircraft with different sections could be chartered by multiple clients between common city pairs or for common events (TED Talks, etc).
