Re: Corona Virus
What may happen in Canada and around the world is this: Increasing Restricting of freedoms and ability to work for people until the hospitals/ supply chain reaches peak use, ( flattening the curve) then slowly increasing freedoms and ability to work and adjust with experience until a steady state of equilibrium is reached. Peak hospital/supply resources are utilized along with peak freedoms. This would continue until herd immunity ( 60-70% diseased ) stops the pandemic ( R naught to 1.0 or lower ) Another option would be a cyclical easing and tightening of freedoms until hospital/resources reach their peak until herd immunity. What may throw a BIG monkey wrench into this is a strong mutation, thereby throwing the herd immunity card out the window and causing a restart ( like a bad flu year where the vaccine is only 10-15% effective ) OR another viral pandemic competing with Covid19! Fun times ahead !!!

Re: Corona Virus
The solution to this virus problem requires a global effort. Nearly ever single country worldwide would need to completely stop the spread before any international travel bans start to go away. This is what makes this particularly nasty for the aviation industry. Even if Canada, for example, managed to get down to zero new cases, we would still have to depend on other countries to do the same.corethatthermal wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 6:50 pm What may happen in Canada and around the world is this: Increasing Restricting of freedoms and ability to work for people until the hospitals/ supply chain reaches peak use, ( flattening the curve) then slowly increasing freedoms and ability to work and adjust with experience until a steady state of equilibrium is reached. It’s unfortunate that we have dingbats like the Brazilian president still trying to downplay it and telling people to keep going to work. It’s only going to extend the timeline. What if Canada eventually healed up and lifted the social distancing and closures of establishments, and a carrier from Brazil, or wherever, travelled to Toronto? Then the spread would start all over again.
International aviation in particular is going to continue to be devastated until the entire world can get a handle on the spread, or a vaccine comes out, and/or herd immunity calms it down.

Re: Corona Virus
We all understand that this disease is : moderately but not highly infectious , mostly particulate as compared to aerosol. Infects mostly much older and immunocompromised people and mostly has minimal to mild effects for most of the population . Ironically, this pandemic is a very very good trial and test disease to prepare ALL nations for the future . Will they respond or simply wait until it is too late? Lessons are being learned WRT levels of mitigation and also relearned WRT stopping its spread at the borders. In 3 months, this virus has been stable and predictable ( very minor mutations) Future diseases may be like ebola but a 3 week asymptomatic phase that would prove disastrous! Are we ready? I think NOT !
Re: Corona Virus
I’m sure this was just a trial virus for the Chinese bio weapons lab. They will likely come out with something worse in the fall. I don’t really buy the eating bats or the other armadillo like creature theory. They’ve probably been eating that disgusting shit for thousands of years. Did get the pro democracy protests to stop almost overnight.

Re: Corona Virus
Was it an accidental leak from the Wuhan lab? the world does not concretely know. We do know that ebola and much worse is transported around the world for research for good reasons and BAD reasons this is a known . For the CCP to unleash it upon its own people borders on absurd !

Re: Corona Virus
It wasn’t a trial, but it was likely a virus they found. No joke. It’s pretty clear what happened now that I read this. Researcher goes into a cave, gets contaminated, and brings it into Wuhan. BIG whoops.Inverted2 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 8:58 pm I’m sure this was just a trial virus for the Chinese bio weapons lab. They will likely come out with something worse in the fall. Chinese government researchers isolated more than 2,000 animal viruses, including deadly bat coronaviruses, and carried out scientific work on them just three miles from a wild animal market identified as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reports of the extensive Chinese research on bat viruses likely will fuel more calls for Beijing to make public what it knows about such work.
“This is one of the worst cover-ups in human history, and now the world is facing a global pandemic,” Rep. Michael T. McCaul, Texas Republican and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said last week.
It gets better...
Chinese state media outlets revealed that Mr. Tian once failed to wear protective gear in a cave and as a result came into contact with bat urine. To avoid contracting a disease, he self-quarantined for 14 days — the same recommended period for people exposed to the new COVID-19 strain.
After the incident exposing him to bat urine, Mr. Tian said, he kept a safe distance from his wife. “As long as I am not getting sick during the incubation period of 14 days, I can be lucky to get away with it,” he said.

Be nice to get some more clarification on what happened - I notice this has all gone very quiet.
Why on earth are Chinese nationals being given access to a level 4 lab in the first place?

Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business

Omg, pick a conspiracy and stick with it!
Are the Chinese covering up millions of deaths or did they engineer this virus as a weapon.
Did the Spaniards bio engineer the Spanish flu? Or was that the Portuguese?
Either they are evil geniuses or complete morons. You can't have it both ways.
Try to find truths, not a bunch of fabricated pieces.

Well the Wuhan bat piss virus lab is 3 miles away from the COVID-19 epicentre, so I don’t really see any conspiracy.Heliian wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 5:30 am Omg, pick a conspiracy and stick with it!

Re: Corona Virus
There's going to be a bunch of conspiracy bullshit floating around on social media and even the mainstream media for years to come.
All of it is going to be inflamed for political gain by both nations. It wouldn't surprise me if the bat piss story was something that was leaked to the media by the US state department.
None of it really matters at this point. The genie is out of the bottle. Whether it was a @#$! up at a lab or terrible conditions at a wet market, it remains a fact that disease experts have been warning about the wet market scenario for over two decades -- so to me, that seems more likely than health professionals fucking up in a lab (all over the world, disease experts deal with highly infectious pathogens safely, on a day-to-day basis).
Doesn't help to play the blame game. Just stay home and do your part for now. Going forward, get rid of these markets, and make sure we're prepared for the next pandemic because it could potentially be way worse than this one.

Re: Corona Virus
You can’t just “get ride if these wet markets”. They’re literally a vital part of life all over Asia. It’s been like that for hundreds of years. You can’t just tell a billion people to simply just go the grocery store. If you knew anything about Asian culture you would realize that getting rid of wet markets is not feasible whatsoever.
The blame game is important because it holds people accountable. The onus is on the Chinese government to keep this from happening again.

Good luck with enforcing that!mixturerich wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 11:24 am The blame game is important because it holds people accountable. The onus is on the Chinese government to keep this from happening again.
How about we all just accept that regardless of how this one started, or who's actually responsible, the onus is on us to ensure that our own healthcare and emergency management systems are properly led, staffed, equipped and funded to do a better job of handling the next pandemic. Because I'm pretty confident there will be a next time, and for planning purposes we should assume it's going to be worse than this one.
Re: Corona Virus
The wet market has re-opened. So it could not be the source or they would have kept it shut
At least we are only dealing with one epidemic , have some sympathy for some countries that are fighting multiple outbreaks . As well as facing a second wave of the covid 19 , they are facing a swine flu that has destroyed over half their farm pigs , a bird flu that is destroying their chickens , as well as the usual seasonal flu from the south. It must feel to them that they are in the fourth wave of biological warfare.
When the summer comes the Zika virus will also return thanks to the UN anti-malarial program that used mosquitoes bred to replace the malaria carrying mosquitoes .
They should just give us Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine Phosphate in our breakfast and let's us get back to work . That stuff cannot be any worse than some of those other GMO non organic pesticide residues and food additives we consume without complaint

The ban on hormones in the production of beef in the EU is why Breast Cancer rates are forty percent lower than countries that allow hormones in beef production.
One of the biggest factors for breast cancer after alcohol .
