It seems like this thing hasn't been bad in Canada yet and there isnt much panic, and maybe it wont be bad at all. Or more likely we are in for a really big shock when shit hits the fan.

The WHO has stated that travel restrictions are largely ineffectual, and they tend to cause economic chaos rather than stem the flow of a contagious disease. Economic chaos, in the midst of a pandemic, should be avoided as it makes it harder to adequately respond to the pandemic in the first place.

Sad time. For the past decade pilots were talking like they were the ones in control. This will be very humbling for many. Those of us who have been around awhile have seen it before. It never goes well.

That is the point where you will see accidents happen. You'll have a combination of relatively low time people who got the job last month and owners whose mailboxes are suddenly filled with resumes again. This will create situations where the owner will start pushing pilots again ("hey if they quit, I can hire a new one tomorrow"), and where the low time pilot is afraid to lose his job and won't say no.

Next week at the majors/ regionals. Northern pilots will ride this out, if you have a good job hold onto it.
Back in 9/11 I was a king air pilot. While the industry ground to a halt, those with type ratings and time on type faired pretty well.

The difference now is the retirement wave is here, the industry will recover faster. Good luck all
