Rating paperwork during covid

Post by pac11adp »

I just completed my Seaplane rating with a high time commercial float pilot. I mailed to the Pacific TC office the form, a photo of the journey and personal logs as well as proof of online payment. Neither of us has done this before.

Does anyone know if they're still processing?

Thanks

Mike

They likely would be. I don't know about Pacific Region or license/rating applications specifically but Transport Canada inspectors are still working, albeit remotely.

Now would be apt time for Transport to go fully digital with their paperwork. Imagine if the private AP could input all the info through the TC portal akin to GALRO and then scan the paperwork and attach it to the application. All the TC AP would have to do is verify and hit approve. It would save a lot of manual entry and speed up the process from TC's side of things.

Industry Canada has been doing this for many years now and their turn around times on Radio License has been marvellous. I have had students receive their license in under 5 business days from the day they wrote the exam.
