Favorite Aviation Movie?
Seems appropriate as we in Onterrible go back into lockdown with roadblocks and dogs sniffing for people going on unauthorized outings. ( half kidding ).
I'll go first, Netflix Canada is too cheap to carry the old movies so I pryed 99 cents ! Loose and rented Air America on Apple TV.
Still funny. Cool aircraft and scenery.
What's yours?

Re: Favorite Aviation Movie?
I don't really have one, but I enjoyed Flyboys, even if it was a little cheesy at times.
"I found that Right Rudder you kept asking for."
Re: Favorite Aviation Movie?
Dr Strangelove hands down.
"Goldy, how many times have I told you guys I don't want no horsin' around on the airplane?"
"I'm not horsing around sir."
"We'll I've been to one world fair a picnic and a rodeo and that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard come over a pair of earphones."
Although the Blue Max is pretty good too.
"I am ... comfortable in the air Herr Hoffman"
Can we count tv shows? Private Plane from Black Adder is obviously the best aviation themed 22 minutes ever recorded.
"Had to dump the kite on the proles"

Isn't The Aviator on Netflix?
+1 for flyboys. Pretty nice surprise!

Re: Favorite Aviation Movie?
Air America is oddly difficult to find copies of, I have to rely on my old VHS copy.
Being subjected to everything in the John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movie library as a kid has made me partial to The Flying Tigers and Firefox. “You must think in Russian!”
While not strictly an aviation movie, Dunkirk’s flying scenes are amazing. The ditching scene made me flinch.

I'm not sure what's more depressing: That everyone has a price, or how low the price always is.

Les Chevaliers du ciel.
The French Top Gun, just as cheesy but so much better. Based on a comic book series. Some of the best air-to-air cinematography out there.

For the dhc-2 fans out there Six Days and Seven Nights. Flight with Denzel Washington and American Made with Tom Cruise are pretty entertaining.

Re: Favorite Aviation Movie?
Zero Hour! the movie that Airplane was based on. Suppose to be serious, but after Airplane, it is just so much cheese.
