Looks like Red Lake.

Possible red lake supply Co. Building in the background.

Cheers.

I’m a fan of de Havilland biplanes and the Hornet Moth is particularly lovely, especially the A-model with its sharply tapered wings. IIRC DH offered a retro fit of the later square-tipped wings (much less prone to tip stall turning final) at no charge, I guess it was too much hassle to get a set of them out to Red Lake.

I am certain the location is Red Lake Ont. Pat Reid later flew a Beech 17 on floats CF-BJD for Imperial Oil in the late 1930’s and 1940’s. BJD was in storage for many years but was recently restored in BC. Pat Reid and his wife died in the mid air collision of a TCA Northstar and Harvard near Moose Haw SK in 1954. His grandson is an acquaintance of mine.
