Go talk to EI about funding.. you will have to fill out a whack of paperwork, but its worth it. I know of guys that get help (around 75% covered) to finish CPL, MIFR and the ATPL. There is money there for this kind of training, you just have to find the right branch manager in a small town where no one else applies for these programs...

Go work in the oil patch for a couple of years and instead of living large, get used to KD and Ichiban, and put away some cash. The experience doesn't require much education, will look good to northern operators, and gets you used to the fine class of people you will fly around when you do crew changes.
