Just logged my 1000th hour, flying over golden ears at 7000 feet. Beautiful day, month and year.
Let me know where you where when this monkey finally jumped off your hump.

Climbing through 8000 for FL180 from YEK to YYQ. Remember it vividly. It also meant that I got a raise.

Teaching x-wind landings in a 152. It was good at the time but glad to have moved on.

Good question Otter envy.
You're gonna have me thinking about that all day now.
Where

I was flying an Aztec, 1500 feet climbing out of Baie-Comeau enroute to Sept-Îles, Qc. I had the good fortune of having my partner taking pictures of it all! Good memories!

Between Sept-Isles and Schefferville, probably at 9000' in a Beech 99 on the 23rd of June, 1993.
I remember looking at my watch constantly while my captain wondered what i was in such a rush for. When I told him that I had crossed the 1000 hour mark he rolled his eyes.
Cheers,

Somewhere in the Maritimes, likely near Chatham, Sevogle, Dunphy, or Bathhurst, in a 172 or an Aztec or a Tri-pacer in 81.
Might take me 1000 hours to find my original logbook to find it. But I remember the plane places and people just fine.
Now if you're asking when I first reached 1000 hours on the airplane I fly now, nope can't remember that. For a slow airplane the last 10000 hours have gone by really fast.

Doing my longest overnight medevac ever!
From Alberta to Whitehorse in a dark snowstorm, back to Edmonton, and back to Northern Alberta.
Great trip, struggle to stay awake, no working autopilot.
Do it again in a heartbeat.

A while back...sitting in a 152 with my student doing the run-up! Watched the hobbs click over and felt the smile on my face...had been waiting a long time for that one!

Boy, am I weird. I haven't a clue what I was doing when I clicked over 1000/2000/3000/etc nor could I really care.
The only thing that matters is how well you flew last time. Who cares what you did 10, 20 or 50 years ago.
