Not a technical question....but....
I'm planning on a trip with some of my students this summer to an airshow in Canada. The problem is which one to go to? I've never been to the Abbotsford show, but have been to several out East (London, Toronto, Hamilton). I've seen a few out West and that is currently closer to my location, so does anyone have any suggestions on which would be a good show to take in?
I briefly considered Oshkosh but that's our busy season and I can't be gone for more than two days.

"Come down, your head is in the sky, feet on the ground...come down."
Last time i was at the YXX show was 02 and the static displays were great. Though as usual our strong proud can forces only had about one aircraft there for every ten that the us brought.
One thing i do notice about this year's list of performers (just like all years since it started up again) is the lack of big name aerobatic performers. Not a single unlimited aerobatic aircraft on the list, let alone tucker or goulian. Though bud granley tearing the harvard into a roll right from the ground is still one of the best looking moves out there.
Too bad bob hoover is not longer doing his thing. I feel sorry for anyone who missed the chance to see him.
Just bite the bullet and go to kosh. You will find it worth it.

There is a show in Brantford, Ontario CYFD on September 1st.
It is a free show for the local united way.
Lineup:
Snowbirds
2 CF-18's
2 A-10's from states
Canadian Warplane Heritage planes.
Its a really neat show on a wednesday afternoon, if you can make it.
PM me for further details.

When they flew the Stealth Fighter at North Bay, it cost the city 30,000 A MINUTE....kinda puts the line-up choices into perspective...
C130 Herc...9000 an hour
C113 Lab...about 4000 per.....
Personally, I'd rather watch Warbirds

Did anyone make it to the Cold Lake Airshow this year? http://www.coldlake.com/airshow/
I've wanted to go there for years but never made it.

I went to the Rocky Mountain airshow two years ago. All in all it was your standard airshow fare. As far as list of performers goes, I'm trying to remember if there was anyone worth seeing. The Griffon was pretty good, along with I think the Super Universal, which I believe is the only one flying in the world. Bill Carter put on a pretty good show, unfortunately he is no longer performing on the airshow scence, along with Jerzy and his Extra 300.
All in all, it isn't a bad day. The static displays were somewhat along the weak side, but then again YRM is not a market like OshKosh.
About all I can remember. They did have skydivers too, and some demonstrations from AirSpray, so if you're into that sort of thing, go.
Cheers and fly safe.
