Cost of Exec charters ?

Post by LostinRotation »

Friends and I are sitting around work (second non-aviation job) and are trying to figure out what cost per/hr something like a Falcon 10 or comparable (7+passenger) would be for a short trip. I would call around...but it's 5am
Anyone give me a ballpark number ?

I would guess somewhere around $1000 CDN.

At the very least, $3500.00 per hour for an entry level jet.

Falcon 10 only seats 6 (very crowded).

Falcon 50- $5800/hr
CL 60- $6800/hr
Global- $10500/hr

You can sit in mine for 1000/hr but it aint goin anywhere and I'll be charging for drinks

How about if I buy the drinks and we call it even ;)

Actually I should have been more specific in my original post. We're looking at a trip from the GTA to Montreal and back. That should help with flt times.

I believe your right, I was thinking of fuel costs only. I'm shure they also charge mileage as well.

900nm trip
$5 per mile
Say about $1000 per hour
300nm cruising speed

about $7500ish.

And that problably wouldn't include taxes, landing fees, etc.

Head out to your local FBO and find magazine laying around put out by the Controller people called "Charter Hub" I believe it lists prices for various aircarft int eh states and some from Canada, but I find that most Canadian ones just list the price as "call for quote"

There is alot of other expences than just fuel. We changed around $6 per mile in the piaggio, for a citation you will be around that $6 per mile rate. Remember there will be holdin fee's too and over night fee's if you are overnighting, again for a citation level jet you will be charged 600-800 night for crew expenses etc.

Do you care if it's a jet or a prop? I'd imagine a navajo would fit the 7 and be alot cheaper.

Thanks for all the input guys. Never priced out a charter before, let alone at 5am. Unfortunately seems a little too dear for a night out and my aviation induced pockets. We were thinking of doing this for my buddies wedding party. Anyone ever do this ?

I think the guy who said a grand an hour misplaced a decimal. A King Air 200 costs about that much an hour just to run without putting pilots in it.

Unless it's for the Sask Government because they don't burn fuel.

Or rent a Ford Econoline van for $180/week and spend the rest on rippers and booze. That would be my vote!
