YYC...Min hours for right seat job?

Post by 172pilot »

What are the approx min hours to be hired on with Carson, AltaFlights, Sunwest, Swanberg, NCA etc for an entry level FO position? Any chance with under 1000 hours, 500 or less for example?

Thanks for any input.

500 total time for contrail on a turbine pressurized aircraft. Turnover is so rampant that having a PPC is gonna really help.

Do you need to meet the contrail requirement for a FO position, or just for left seat?

What about for bag runs/cargo etc on a caravan or metro?

Thanks.

YYC...Min hours for right seat job?

I don't know much about Air Sprint but with a PC12 I don't think it can be Contrails. Maybe try that - F/O on a -12 isn't the best but it's a start.

I'd try Medevac Ops too 500 hours is the stated minimum for AB health... Northern Air, AB Central, Mikisew, Bar XH, AB Northern (little red) are all having a tough time keeping medevac pilots - None of those jobs will land you in YYC... but 500 hours onto a 200 you can't be too picky.

Good Luck!
Altiplano, is right u can't be too picky, if u're getting a right seat on 200 for Medevac, jump on it..a great plane. For the PC12, as a starter, to my opinion, the best plane to learn turbine flying. First turbine jb I got. Nice plane, excellent performances, and GLASS COCKPIT. You'll have a blast. It's a super extra turbo charged hi tech 172.

However, i believe reading somewhere here that Air Sprint were asking bonds for the captains  , not sure if it is the same for FO. U wouldn't have to sign one, since this plane is Single pilot IFR approoved.

Good Luck, never give up.

Thanks for the replies and words of encouragement. I'm not against moving to another city but tied down to YYC right now due to my girlfriend's occupation. BarXH is another good idea but now I just have to work on my hours over the next few months and take it from there. Lets hope persistance pays off. Maybe I can even land a dispatch job to get a foot in the door and finally say goodbye to the downtown corporate office life.

Has a company like Air Sprint hired guys in the right seat for the pilatus with less than 1000 hours?
Especially now where there is such a high rate of hiring going on?

Any comments would be appreciated
