yea, me to. First letter I have got other than the one every 30 days telling me I owe. Does the fact that they owe me over a grand in past tax returns change anything?

I got my tax return and they didn't take the $55 off again. I've been receiving recorded message phone calls from the credit agency TC sent after me. They tried dinner time for a while which was mildly annoying. Now they've gone to waking me up in the morning which seems over the top. Anyone else getting these calls? I'm pretty sure this the only money I owe to anyone.

I got one of the phone calls last week. I told them I wasn't provided with a service so I wasn't paying the fee.

Yeah, I get the calls too.

Until I get something in the mail telling me what I owe and where to send it.....well, no one will be home.

Weird how a $55.00 charge gets you a stamp on the medical, but $30.00 gets you a whole new license with the new endorsement.

So they just called me again. I asked the lady directly what would happen if I didn't pay. It went something like this...

Me: So what happens if I don't pay? Will it affect my credit rating?

Her: Yes

Me: When?

Her: I don't know, but it will affect your credit score.

Me: Sure you do, you must know. You work for a collections agency. What exactly happens if I don't pay.

Her: Well....we send a report back to Transport Canada saying you refused to pay, and they'll send a report to the credit bureau and take away your pilot's license.

Me: Hehe, No they won't! This is an outrageous fee. Can you imagine renewing your drivers license every year and having to pay 55 dollars. People wouldn't tolerate.....hello, hello? Are you there?

She hung up on me!

It is the case in Quebec, isn't it?

I must be the worlds biggest sucker. I just pay the 55 bucks twice a year and get no harassing phone calls. It doesn't even affect my finances or offend my sensibilities. I need to step out and be a rebel!

Fortunately, I only work 6 months, so I only get one medical a year, and let it lapse in the winter. But, why not make a Human rights complaint that, if you are over 40, and thus having 2 medicals a year, you are being discriminated against by virtue of your age?

I recently got a very nasty letter from some collection
agency - not collectcorp, perhaps ARC? - saying that
because I hadn't paid Transport $55 for my last medical,
that they had destroyed my credit rating. Thanks, guys.

Oh well. Does this mean I can't get a sub-prime mortgage?

I didn't get my FINAL notice today from ARC, not registered, I guess Collectocorp gave up.

Now I suck at the linking so I'll just type out the highlights.
You have not responded to our attempts to resolve this debt with you. (The two a day recorded message asking you to call us)

Payment must be made to our office within 30 days of receipt of this notice. If paid, your defaulted account will not be registered with the Credit Bureau. (yes they did have that bolded)

After this date has passed, your account may be reported on your credit bureau.

(Now my favorite part)

Please be advised that no payment made to Transport Canada will be accepted.
If I did feel like paying this "debt" i sure in heck wouldn't be paying them, TC sends me a invoice each year with the outstanding balance, so I would pay on that invoice, any issues I have the invoice to prove I owed TC not these pricks at ARC

BITE ME ARC

My reply would be "sorry these 14 hour duty days" leave me no time to manage my finances and pay bills.

I think the lawyer representing Jetsgo Pilots that lost up to $30,000 courtesy of Michel Leblanc should draft a defamation of character civil suit against this reporter with an eloquent letter showing the career paths of these pilots that led them to lose almost 30 Grand.

I think they should have their medical pulled for mental illness.

Does anyone think ARC's threats of credit rating destruction or license revocation have any weight? I don't agree with the fee but I probably am going to need a mortgage some day... and a license to help pay it off.
