iPod in flight
IPod or mp3 player in flight.
Anyone tried this or made it work through a headset? How so? Wish I could get my iPod mini to play though the DC headset.

Try any of those pilot supply stores. There's a few models, some cancel the music when there is other radio calls, the simple ones don't. Or do it 'ol skool' and put the ear bud up to the backside of the mic and secure it with the ring that keeps the muff on. Rock on!
Is dat Pan Am on the runway, Isn't that veird?

There are a couple of inline contraptions you can buy from places like aviation world. I have a little splice I made from radioshack parts that works ok. I've found the best overall is to just put an earbud under my DC's... I believe the new X11's have a plug for ipod in them!!
Everyone should be rockin out to good tunes on the long hauls.. Just pause or turn it off when in busy areas.

Light Speed
The 3G series from light speed has a connection for a cellphone and an mp3 player that will automatically mute audio from said devices when there is radio communication.

You can get the parts and pieces from Radio Shack for about 15 to 20 bucks. You basically just need a Y adapter so that you can input two sources into the headphone plug on your headset, and a step up or down plug adapter to adapt from the mp3 size plug to the headset plug. I did this with my homebuilt and about a year later looked under my intercom and found an aux audio input. Oh well.

I have the DC X11 and I must say that besides being light weight very comfortable and quiet, it's best feature is the ipod plug in, it automatically cuts out when ATC or the Cojo starts yaking. I must say if your in the cockpit for any length its a must. Kinda funny when ATC gets yaking heading into a big airport and you forget that you have left it on, then you get that few seconds of silence and metalica starts back up in the middle of a song it kind of gets your attention.
