Muncho Lake crash
Does anyone have information on the crash at Muncho Lake yesterday? News doesn't really have much and I used to fish up in that area, any info that is appreciated, thanks.

A elderly man is dead and three people injured after a small plane crashed northwest of Fort Nelson at Muncho Lake on Sunday.
The Twin Otter charter plane crashed in the early afternoon shortly after take off from a local gravel airstrip.
The aircraft had five people on board — two pilots and three passengers.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men and a teenaged boy were taken to Fort Nelson for medical treatment, for non-life threatening injuries. A female passenger was not injured.
Officials say they are continuing their investigation and don't yet know what caused the crash.

I was an otter guy also...this is painful....looks like he lifted the left wing to avoid that tree but maybe was a bit slow to do so.....my god my thoughts are with all onboard.....
I am not speculating but seemed like a short strip....did he have enough flap out for that?
only flew the twin for a year.....

It was a short strip. Full fuel en route to YVR. The pilot supposedly, hadn't been trained on stol takeoffs. He turned to the right to avoid the phone lines on the other side of the road.

That really sucks. I hope those that survived have a speedy recovery.
