Apparently an inordinate number of pilots are left handed.

I've noticed that ever since I've been in aviation. I thought it was only supposed to be 10% of the population was supposed to be left handed. I started noticing in flight school as an instructor that a lot of flyers were lefties. I started polling my groundschoolclasses and I think it was probably at least 20%.

I'm a lefty and always felt that planes were designed a little better for leftys.
Sitting in the left seat I think it's better to have a little more finesse and ability on the yoke as opposed to the throttle.
My first landing in the right seat was pretty horrid.

I'm a south paw. I had a tough time - initially when I did an instructor rating. Both work well now...depending on who you talk to.

it all depends on the situation

I do most things right handed but when it comes to martial arts or flying I find myself equally capable. I almost prefer the left-hand controls.

My father is left handed..

I'm ambidextrous.. I can write equally well with both hands.. but I throw better with my right and fly better.. Always on the left side

The numbers are incredible. Left handed myself, surprised to see more then 30% are left handed.
