Moosonee Mooseburgers

Post by . ._ »

If things work out right, I and another Sault College student will be powering the mighty ZLIN up to Moosonee on Sunday.

Anybody know where we can get a mooseburger?

It's been a few years ..but try the polar bear lodge on the way in to town from the airport I would think it will still be open...it's on the left side of the main drag on the river side of the road. If nothing else you can go to the Northern Store buy some bread and meat and make some sandwichs sitting on the banks of the lovley YMO river....that often ment fighting the black flies but this time of year they are almost always gone due to the cold weather ...which reminds me take some warm cloths, aaaa memories.
Good luck

I thought Sault College sent their kids up there to serve mooseburgers after graduation...or was that something to do with moose patties? I am always out of the loop!

usually the northern store doesn't have half price sale on expired meats until tuesdays. Too bad, you'll miss out on all the "savings"

Just got back from Moosonee. The Polar Bear Lodge's dining room was closed, so we hit the main drag, and the Quick Stop. Well, no mooseburgers, but some regular burgers anyways. We even had a guy tell us that he's an Indian. Funny, I thought they all wore turbans. You learn something new every day.

You should have hit the Ecolodge on the other side of the lake. Ernie Meatface can make a mean Burger and fries.

29chev,

Wasn't looking for a job. Just doing the commercial cross country. Moosonee is 327nm direct from the Soo. The weather was great, but if we were about an hour later, we would have had to divert because of a monster storm coming off Lake Superior. The lightning looked cool from the air. Glad it was behind us and not going in the same direction as us.

Might be up that way looking for a job in a couple of years, though...
