I love how companies expect you to just hit the sleep button in their command "Well, you'll get to your destination at 1pm and rest until 9pm, so that way you can fly back all night" ...Yea I'll just press my sleep button, I think Bussiness Depot makes one. THAT WAS EASY!

Replace the last choice with “all of the above” and then you’ll have my vote.

Good thread.

I nap whenever I can.

If my FO needs it then they nap.

If we both need to nap I break out the java and hope my bladder holds out.

Medevac all night, get home at 0900 and be good for another 14 at 1700? Get real.
We all know there are some pretty dopey light turbo-props careening around the skies in the small hours every night.

Nap. Nap. Nap. That's what I say.

Actually, I feel one right now. Laters.

I slept all day and slept all night, in the 24 hour darkness, and was still exhausted for almost every flight. Frickin cold, nothing to do, darkness all get to ya.

The survey refers to unintentional sleep and not controlled rest in the flight deck, I presume.

I used to take my pants off before having my nap while single pilot over Central America... good times. Somedays I didn't bother putting them back on at destination.

Huh??

I am usually exausted on most early morning flights. Staying awake after taking off at 5:40 a.m is always hard, however I never slept unintentionally in the cockpit.

Firstly, O2 does nothing for a hangover... It's an old wives tell. Secondly, if you have a truly understanding nurse...and a empty first leg you might get a saline IV.

But otherwise it you haven't flown exhausted you are either a liar or your boss is doing at very god job at digging up work.

Regards
