Bose headset in RJ doesn't work right

Post by bandit1 »

Anybody have a Bose that they use in the RJ?

With the noice cancelling on I get a loud squelch/feedback out of the left ear cup. Is my headset f-cked or has anyone seen this problem as well?

Had a similar problem...not just in the RJ though / if I touched anything metal in the cockpit the noise went away though. I shipped them back to Bose (Tel-Air Electronique in YQB) with our FedEx discount, including a note explaining the problem. They were fixed and sent back to me free of charge within a week...no problems with the headset since.

I have had the same problem in the dash. Haven't sent it in yet, but its in the left cup as well. I have noticed it has somehong to do with the windshield heat being on.

Why do you need noise cancelling in the RJ? I haven't turned mine on since I started flying it!! lol

Thanks for the info guys, I'll look into it.

Don't need the noice cancelling in it but it sucks to have a 1000$ headset that doesn't work right.

I'll get it fixed and then probably sell it.

The windshield heat and metal in the cockpit is an interesting theory however I also get the feedback when it's not even in the plane. Never happened before.
