maylan thread

Where did it go? Guess it's just a little too much reality for the powers at be...

I guess the truth hurts some times.
Instead of changing things they just censor the truth and pretend nothings wrong.
Good luck to the future suckers

You should understand that freedom of expression is not a right in Canada.

Re: maylan thread
And it's ok to put students, instructors and other pilots in danger like maylan does? It's ok to ignore health and safety regulations and labour laws like maylan does?
Maylan is everything the aviation industry SHOULDN'T be. Maylan is the reason there are laws that attempt to protect the little guy.

Probably 90% of flying schools in Canada are operating against the labour laws! And it's ok to put students, instructors and other pilots in danger like maylan does? It's ok to ignore health and safety regulations and labour laws like maylan does?
Health and safety?
The good thing about flight instructing in little aeroplanes is that for most of us we are allowed to fly the aeroplane within weight and balance, in suitable weather, and in accordance with the regulations.
We are self responsible for our own health and safety and we are lucky to have some control over it.
If we take an unfit aircraft flying and TC ramp check us, who get's into trouble?
Think about the poor people who have to fly light twins and float planes for some operators out there.
They have to go or they're out the door and another poor pilot will take the load... maybe into the trees, but take it he or she will!

When the transportation authority whose jobs are to keep us "safe" exempt instructors from duty time, then you know you're flying in a nation with good and world standard laws.MichaelP wrote:Probably 90% of flying schools in Canada are operating against the labour laws! And it's ok to put students, instructors and other pilots in danger like maylan does? I mean the above with absolute sarcasm btw.

Re: maylan thread
What's all this talk about Maylan?? What laws are they ignoring? This is all news to me and I live really close to YXU.
Re: maylan thread
I've merged a few threads from various subforums and moved the whole thing to general.
Please be careful what you say so the thread doesn't end up getting edited or removed entirely.

Re: maylan thread
By "finished", do you mean Maylan is going out of business in a couple of months?Stevo226 wrote:Don't worry about it, it'll be finished in a couple months anywayBoeing boy wrote:What's all this talk about Maylan?? What laws are they ignoring? This is all news to me and I live really close to YXU.
Re: maylan thread
Closing up shop in December, supposed to be closed until March. But from what I hear many don't think it'll open up again
Re: maylan thread
Has Maylan closed yet? What's going on with them?Stevo226 wrote:Closing up shop in December, supposed to be closed until March. But from what I hear many don't think it'll open up again
Im wondering what is the situation with the schools in London. Any of them good to work for?
Aero Academy Inc
Blue Bird Flight Academy
Crosswind Aviation

Timing is everything.

That's too bad for the instructors but it also means that the rest of us will feel a bit more safe from the solo students.
Re: maylan thread
TC shows they have over 40. Should be no problem...Bede wrote:I heard at least 1 aircraft got repo'd.

Diamond Flight Centre London is a place that would be worth considering, IMHO.Tango01 wrote:

Usually it is a problem. Once one creditor seizes assets, the rest are usually very fast to follow. Think of C3. Glasgow airport seized a 330 and within a few hours, every other aircraft was seized.Tango01 wrote:TC shows they have over 40. Re: maylan thread
The repo industry sounds like it could offer a steady and secure job. Any banks out there hiring/looking for contractors?

Okay so there goes Maylan then...
