The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Why don't you phone Transport Canada and ask?

They're really kind and helpful.

Since the new license won't fit in my old holder can I still use my holder as a wallet to help pick up chicks at the bar?

It's just another piece of paper. Fill it out, send a pic...

Get it over with.

Yes. According to the CARS, non-licenced personnel are stupid and can't tell the difference. Ditzy broads in the club fall under this category.

The last time I looked at my old lic. it did not have an expire date. Check the CARs/CASS as I don't think there is anything. The link above is not a reg and from what I hear TC is behind several months (3 - 4 ) in printing new ones.

I went and got a new one anyway as some of the third world countries had nicer looking lic than our old ones.

It took about a month for my booklet to come in. I was expecting it to be a long wait too.

Winnipeg is doing a good job right now. Took mine about 3 weeks from drop off to opening the envelope. I sent mine in with my application for Class 1 IFR to avoid them having to print a blue paper license and a new aviation document. I still got both :P
