Does anyone know of any webcams or anything online at the Ottawa airport? There is a bit of an embankment at the end of 07 then some rocks/tress... I hope it didn't exit the runway at highspeed. It was raining pretty hard in spurts this hour in Ottawa

The type of plane that operates on that route is a Bombardier CRJ-200.

She said the aircraft was built by Brazilian aerospace group Embraer (ERJ.N) but had no more details.

Just stopped by. Thankfully, it did not go over the hill at the threshold of 25. It is an ERJ145 Nose gear appears to be up; I couldn't get close enough.

Here is the early article:

I had just switched to tower when I heard "We're not going to make it." Tower: "We're sending the trucks"

Looks like an ERJ 145.

For the nose gear to collapse or dig in, it must have over ran the runway at a high speed. At least everyone is ok.

that is a long runway for that little jet to be travelling at a high rate of speed where I saw it stopped...I guess we'll hear more soon. I can't believe it is national news though

NTSB SENDING TEAM TO CANADA TO ASSIST WITH INVESTIGATION OF

RUNWAY EXCURSION ACCIDENT

*********************************************************

The National Transportation Safety Board is dispatching a

team of investigators to assist the Transportation Safety

Board of Canada with its investigation of today’s airplane

accident in Ottawa.

At about 2:30 p.m. EDT, a Trans States Airlines Embraer-145

regional jet operated as United Express flight 8050

(N847HK), overran runway 25 while landing at Ottawa

International Airport. Preliminary reports indicate that

there were several injuries among the 33 passengers and

three crewmembers onboard. The flight originated from

Washington Dulles International Airport.

NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman has designated Air Safety

Investigator John Lovell as the U.S. Accredited

Representative. The U.S. team will also include an NTSB

flight operations specialist, an NTSB survival factors

specialist, and technical advisors from the Federal Aviation

Administration. The team will arrive in Ottawa on Thursday

morning.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada

(http://www.tsb.gc.ca/eng/contactez-contact/index.asp) will

release all information on the progress of the

investigation.

With all due respect, that's a little immature to be stating that comment when you have no clue what you are talking about.

True, I don't know anything at all about that crew but I suppose I was generalizing the US feeder experience & renumeration. That, you have to agree with me on.

Westjet did it a little while ago too on the very same runway and they weren't the first.
