Metro question
When tweezing my eyebrows, I have a hard time getting them even.....sorry couldn't resist.
On a more serious note...
It's been a few years since I've been on the Metro and was having a hard time explaning to a buddy of mine why the AWI gave you the extra 100 SHP on T/O. If I remember correctly, it's basically because the AWI actually cools the intake air.
Can anyone add to this? (or throw it out completelly and start over again)
Cheers

Re: Metro question
I believe you are on the right track. It cools the air which in turns makes the intake air more dense hence more power.

Re: Metro question
add a little alcohol/ethonol to the mixture and you have lift-off
Re: Metro question
I don't know about the metro but in the A/C i've flown the water meth is introduced in the compressor. when air is compressed it heats up and expands(where you harvest bleed air) so when water meth is injected it cools the compressor and air, inturn not expanding as much, allowing more air in to be compressed and introduced into the burner cans to be combusted and turned into power. the purpose of water meth is to restore engine performance to it's standard 15 Deg @ SL

OK, I edited your quote a bit. They don't need to be even. (and doesn't this guy look like a Jazz pilot?)updownupdownupdown wrote:When tweezing my eyebrows, I have a hard time getting them even.

Can anyone throw it out

Re: Metro question
That is correct. It is used to recover power lost to a hot/high day. You still have to abide by all operating restrictions, ie 110% Tq for 5 min and not over temp it. ( not an issue if the Temp Limiter is working)V1CUT wrote:I don't know about the metro but in the A/C i've flown the water meth is introduced in the compressor. when air is compressed it heats up and expands(where you harvest bleed air) so when water meth is injected it cools the compressor and air, inturn not expanding as much, allowing more air in to be compressed and introduced into the burner cans to be combusted and turned into power. the purpose of water meth is to restore engine performance to it's standard 15 Deg @ SL
