And I thought no one drank plain water in Chapleau...

...and pretty low compared to this hole here, at 8367 ft...

Boiling does not make it safe???
Can't use for washing???
Being cautious is one thing... but this...
I drink the water straight out of the lake (the greatest lake), and surrounding ones as well, where I'm from and have never been sick because of it. Maybe building immunity is an important thing to consider and all these precautions we take nowadays are the reason we get so ill when a bug actually does come along.
Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about... but seriously, boiling does not make it safe? Is it the chemicals, such as chlorine or the fluorine that is the cause for this?

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did do.

I'm surprised Expat... you, of all people, should know you ingest more fecal matter than most people realize, whether it be in the water you drink or the food you eat. Cook/boil most anything long enough and it's safe to eat or drink.Expat wrote:Would you eat boiled sh*t???

This thread reminds me of something I saw in a movie once.

You are right! After almost six years in this place with open air sewers, I even breathe it! But still alive and kicking...

You should be able to drink the water at the airport since its not part of the municipal system. People have always complained about the taste of Chapleau water. I live in the Chapleau area and get my water from a sand point brside Borden Lake, its great.
