NTSB ASSISTS GOVERNMENT OF CANADA IN AVIATION ACCIDENT

The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched an
aviation investigator to assist the government of Canada in
its investigation of the crash of a Hawker Beechcraft
Corporation King Air B-100 (C-FGIN).
At approximately 05:58 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on June
23, the aircraft crashed near Quebec City, Quebec, Canada,
shortly after takeoff. Preliminary reports indicate 7
persons were fatally injured. There are no reported injuries
on the ground.
NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman has designated air safety
investigator Ed Malinowski as the U.S. Accredited
Representative. His team will include a technical advisor
from Hawker Beechcraft.
The investigation is being conducted by the Transportation
Safety Board of the Government of Canada, which will release
all information on the progress of the investigation. The

With the little bit of time I have in a A100(3000+), it can be a handful if you let it with those 4 bladed props and relative short wings, AF was an option on the A100 and the ones that I flew didn't have it. From what I read in the papers this particular airplane got to 500 ft and a bit so at that point you should have more going for you, however I certainly won't speculate. Of course the 200 was much better with AF and rudder boost and more power. If I am correct the A100 was Beech's first stand alone design for the turbine cabin class twins, the 90's had the same fuselage as the old Queen Air and the 200 had the same fuselage as the A100 but with t-tail, long tapered wings and more hp(850 ea), but I could indeed be wrong.

The seven bodies of the victims of the crushing of plane of last Wednesday in Quebec were identified by the Office of the coroner.
It is about André Faucher and Dominique Lefebvre, respectively pilot and copilot of the plane. The five passengers were Nicole Brouard, Frédérick Dufour, Jacques Gagnon, Gérald Joncas as well as Norman Tremblay. For some days, the names of the victims circulated in mass media, nevertheless the coroner transmitted names in mass media in party today.
« Any information relating to reasons and circumstances of these seven deceases will be made public by means of the reports of coroner loaded with investigations, Miss Andrée Kronström. In view of the complicacy of this type of accident and as reasons and circumstances of the crushing of the plane are nowadays under inquiry by the Office of the security of the transport of Canada, several months will be necessary for the production of these reports », it was mentioned in the press release.

Don't think BE-A100 had CVR/FDR, nor was it a requirement. As for the TSB being"pissed off" well they do have investigative authority in order to establish a probable cause but do not have any regulatory authority. In their investigating process and findings(probable cause) they can only recommend, they can't order.

Actually a CVR IS required if the aircraft is configured for more than 5 passengers and if the aircraft is flown two crew. Aeropro had challenged the CAR's requirement for a CVR in the courts and subsequently got a waiver from TC for the CVR.

Must be new requirements cause when I was with TC we had a fleet of BE90/A100 and there was 1 Be200 in the Atlantic - none were fitted with CVR/FDR. I also know for a fact there are currently BE200's around in industry not fitted with CVR/FDR

This is true. We also got a waiver from TC for our 1st A100..but we had to limit configuration to 9 seats or less (703) not 5, and ran it two crew at all times. As long as we abided by those terms, we did not require a CVR. 9 revenue seats in a PA31-350 or 9 revenue seats in an A100, same thing. Both under 12,500 and both can be run 703.
