CargoJet sells ALL of their feeder back to Skylink...again

Post by OhKiE DoHkIe »

Yes...Skylink Express risen from the dead will assume CargoJet's feeder venture only after a year attempt to be ALL things to ALL people.

Skylink has bought the regional side which includes the PE-Air operation AND will be trimming it's staff AND working conditions in Skylink Express fashion. Not it's fault...it's the nature of the animal.

Kindoms rise and kingdoms fall...and rise again., but the minions remain the same.
For the small small minority @ the regional level that made life difficult for the Skylink boys (past present and future) during the merger a year ago...remember that we are all in this industry together. The polarization of pilots against one another was unnecessary. You're all better than that, carry this lesson where ever you may go.

Lesson is taught...but will it be learned...? I remain hopeful.

Good luck to all those that will have to find employment.

DATE OF RELEASE: 07/15/2010 0507

CARGOJET INCOME FUND ("CJT.UN-T")
- Sale of its Regional Air Cargo Business
Cargojet Income Fund (the "Fund"), Canada's leading domestic premium
overnight air cargo network operator, announced that it has sold its 55%
interest in the Cargojet Regional Partnership (the "Partnership") to
SkyLink Express Inc. ("SL Express") for a $3.2 million promissory note
secured by aircraft owned by SL Express. SL Express previously held the
other 45% interest in the Partnership, and will operate the regional
business under its own trade name, Skylink Express. Cargojet will record a
one-time non-cash loss of approximately $2.0 million on the sale of its 55%
interest in the Partnership.

"The sale of our regional air cargo business was a difficult but
necessary decision that was made in the best interests of our customers,
our employees and our unitholders," said Ajay Virmani, President and CEO of
Cargojet. "Sustaining a profitable regional air cargo business has been
especially challenging, as recent economic conditions have resulted in a
decline in customer demand and lower yields. The elimination of the drag on
our financial and administrative resources will allow Cargojet to continue
to focus upon and to seek further profitable growth opportunities in its
national and international air cargo programs."

Cargojet is Canada's leading provider of time sensitive overnight air
cargo services. Cargojet operates its network across North America,
transporting over 750,000 pounds of time sensitive air cargo each business
night, utilizing a fleet of thirteen B727, B757 and B767 all-cargo
aircraft.

The Salvation Army has already been awarded the Skylink uniform contract. That Blue Rodeo concert t-shirt you have from 1997, is just fine.

It was actually the Sarah McLachlan circa 1993's "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" T-Shirt I had...the irony is...sickening
