A float plane with six people on board has crashed in a remote area of northern Quebec, provincial police say.
A C-130 Hercules sent from CFB Trenton has dropped two medics by parachute and they are preparing to have casualties transported away by helicopter.
The plane went down in the vicinity of Maria-Chapdelaine, north of Lac Saint-Jean after the pilot encountered bad weather and tried to land on a lake.
Two Griffin helicopters and a Cormorant helicopter from Greenwood, N.S., are en route.

*bump* I cant believe how LITTLE attention any crash in QC gets.
It was a DHC2 if anyone cares. Are accidents becoming so 2nd nature to us that we cant stop to send condolences to the families? 558 views and no comments?
*Edit* to remove my curse word..ya confuzed, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. My bad. I guess im getting tired of hearing about my peers dying in DHC2`s lately.
I had no idea that the 4 were all from the same family. Tragic.

First of all, condolences to all those involved never a good thing to have to experience.
Second of all, FTB....dude what's the deal? You're getting cranky as you get older, relax....

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Re: Plane crashes in northern Quebec
That is so sad, the words just don't come. I've heard about it early this morning. I have friends working there.
It's even more of a tragedy since they're talking about four of the same family (so far).
My condolences to the victim's families and I wish a speedy recovery for the survivors.

It it very sad in any tragic accident. My heart goes out to the Family and Friends left behind to cope with this sadness and heartache. It seems the tragedies are happening too often lately
You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment you touch the perfect speed. And that isn't flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, of flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfect speed, my son, is being there.

So so tragic. I hadn't met anyone involved, but this accident still brings tears to my eyes. Not speculating on the cause, but I will keep this one in my mind next time I feel the urge to get there. My condolences to everyone.

So very sad, a tragedy for all involved.
My condolences to the families and friends.
Condolences to us all, too. Every time this happens we lose a little piece of ourselves, and we will never get used to it.

CTV Saturday update
First reports from Transport Canada, aircraft encountered heavy fog, crashed into a mountainside. CFIT.
Air Saguenay reports the pilot as Gabriel Boivin, a 11,000 hour, 15 year employee flying out of the same base for all 15 years.
One survivor is badly burned, and the second survivor a young teenager who is reported as uninjured, TSB investigator Paul Frechette spoke with the young survivor Saturday.
"As he put it his father threw himself in front of him and so did his uncle. His uncle survived, but unfortunately his father died," Frechette said, adding that the teen coped exceptionally well in the hours it took rescuers to arrive.
Condolences to family and friends.

What a tragedy. The man that threw himself in front of his son is a hero. So is the uncle. The only positive thing I can see coming from this is that we might learn something. If an 11000 hour, 15 year, local expert can have this kind of accident everyone should stop and think about this tragedy next time they are inclined to push on. Rest in peace.
