Are the convair's still owned by KFC? Or is it still a joint venture by Conair and KFC?
Re: Conair Tanker Down
Very sad indeed.
My heartfelt condolences to family, friends, and the community.

Condolences to all the family and friends deeply affected by this tragedy. STL, knowing that people you've known and cared about and who have been taken from you unexpectedly did not suffer in their final moments is important, and I'm sure everyone here agrees when I thank you for that.

Condolences. I hope there was no pain, just the love of the job they were doing.

I hope I never know anyone that gets in a thread like this.

This tragic loss reminds me so much of the book by Ernest K. Gann....."Fate Is The Hunter."
Good-bye Tim, thank-you for your contribution to my aviation education.
This proves that if it can happen to someone as highly experienced as Tim Whiting, it can most assuredly happen to any one of us.
There but for the grace of God go us.

Sitting in Hotel, while away from Home...
Hearing of Brian on the News tonight.
Knew him well, met many times.. Heck He was in this room to visit not long ago.
My partner was here at the time and popped of a couple of shots of Him and another Friend.
So So sorry to loose Him, my heart is crushed for His Family.
Seeing his Wife on TV..Broke me, they are going to need all the prayers we can muster for them.
Too many friends have been lost like this..
Missing you already

Re: Conair Tanker Down
The first time I met Tim was as a 22 year old new hire at Conair. He had introduced himself and welcomed me and I started asking questions about the Dash 7 which we had at the time. He offered to show me the aircraft which I was in awe of. I was expecting a quick once over as this senior captain must have more important things to do than show a new guy around. An hour later my head was swimming in all the cool little details a young guy is thirsty for and I couldn't believe the time and energy he was giving to me.
This experience shows exactly how Tim mentored myself and everyone below him. Through all the small and large trials and difficulties this profession brings Tim was a friend and teacher always. I cannot fully express the priceless and lasting impact he has had on so many brethren.
I birddogged Tim through countless fires in the years after that first meeting. In the coordinated dance over the fire he was one of the best. When I would hear his voice calling 5 minutes back from being over head my fire, I felt pride and relief as I knew he was going to make my job a heck of a lot easier.
May he forever be at peace

Re: Conair Tanker Down
Does anyone have the info on the memorial for Brian? I thought I saw in a newspaper that it was Aug 14 but not sure on that or where. I used to work at Conair but didn't know him. I just feel like I would like to go and show support.
