Airlines told to deny guests without Gov't I'D gender

Post by invertedattitude »

Airlines apparently being told they cannot allow boarding of guests if they cannot visually confirm their gender against gov't issued photo ID

Which means that DND IDs are apparently no longer allowed or any ID that doesn't indicate gender... I hear Manitoba DLs don't show this.

Thus is the direction given to airport staff around here anyway... Apparently being brought up because of the recent incident in air canada

Can someone confirm this?

Requiring ID that includes gender is part of the Passenger Protect Program that came into force in June 2007, if I remember right ...

Yes I found that too, but there are some "new" regulations in place apparently.

Denying ID based solely on gender not bring there is ridiculous...

really, you want to fly bring a passport. you can't get a passport take the bus.

rediculous is you bitching about knowing the rules and not following them. If you don't like the rules throw your hat in the ring get elected and change them. short of that over throw the goverment or stop bitching about them.

Wait until the CTVA (Canadian Transvestites Association) gets a hold of this and makes it into a civil rights case.
