Re: No Offence To The Owner, But...
I just read through this whole thread (started in 2005!) and it amazes me that aviation registrations don't have the same kind of nanny policing that car registrations do in Ontario. It seems they have a whole team of government funded psychologists vetting custom license plate applications to screen out any possible sexual, political, religious or racial connotations. If that were the case with aircraft registrations, I wonder how many would be banned?
Anyway, my question is, how are aircraft registrations assigned? Can you request them for a price? Do they get sold by owners for big bucks, like car registrations are in the UK?

Checked with my old log books and yes, it was a turbo-beaver based
at Toronto Island and it had the tail number CF-UCK in the sixties...
When the owner hiring me told me first, I had a chill...for a moment, thought the whole think
was a joke, but realized the old General was such a Victorian Puritan that
he never saw or noticed the letters. The other real odd thing was he had the Hertz(Ford) Rent a car dealership
but used only GM products...seem that the GM board was loaded with fellow Generals of the
north Africa campaign...they even sent a company DC-8 one day from Detroit with a box of steaks
to North Bay for a party at his fishing lodge nearby!
Ah! Another funny tail:

What do you think of the 310 Terry? I'd considered a 421 when I was looking for a multi engine family wagon but decided that it was more plane than I needed, then the 310 caught my eye.

C-FEES...........................if your really slow try saying it backwards and hopefully you get it.Well not exactly backwards, mix it up a little FFS
Never put that together, but now I see it! She runs great, but the avionics are glitchy... Don't want to insult her any more lest she get me back this weekend!

I actually met the owner once and saw that plane. He told me he named it after his ex wifepete379 wrote:
Surprised no one has mentioned C-180 FUKC in ZBB yet.
My call sign on Vatsim was always C-FAIL. Never got old!

Kieran O'Connor had an ex Canadian Seneca at Weston Airfield west of Dublin a few years back. It's reg was EI-EIO.
Re: No Offence To The Owner, But...
Just opened up the link at the beginning of this thread. Had to laugh.... I used to rent C-GSEX in CYXD back in 1985 for a few days at a time from its then owner.
Came home with the keys in my hand and told my then new bride that I had found the key to GSEX..

Never too late to resurrect a sleeping thread when new fodder comes along, right?
Was looking for a visual to help explain the acronym to someone just now.

Bradley Air used to have DHC-6 CF-ASS in YRB. Not sure where it went.
