Lights in the sky
While flying west bound the other night at FL 410, we spotted a light above us (approximately 30 degrees up) that tracked northbound and remained visible for about 10 to 15 seconds. Obviously a satellite, or so we thought. Approximately 9 minutes later and in the exact same spot, another light that tracked northbound and remained lit for 10 to 15 seconds. This continued for the duration of the flight, every 9 minutes the light would appear, track north and fade from view. As I pulled into my driveway after the flight, I looked up to see the light tracking again in the same position as we saw it in flight. We have seen this a couple of times on a number of other westbound flights. I checked Space Weather.com to see what satellites would be visible and in that kind of orbit. I could find nothing that resembled this type of sighting. All other orbits seem to take place in about 90 minutes. Geosynchronous orbits take place over the Earth's Equator. Has anybody else ever seen this or knows what this may be, or possibly where to find info on the web?

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Could it have been this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molniya_orbit There are several satellites utilizing this type of orbit, especially over northern latitudes, and because most of them are used for espionage or by the Russian government they wouldn't be listed on Spaceweather.

I don't know what the objects are, but at this time of year in the northern hemisphere, more near-earth orbit objects are visible after twilight. It makes the summer sky even more enjoyable, if it wernt fur tha damn muskeeters...
