Hedley was (I think) the most prolific poster on this forum, a man whose knowledge of flying was surpassed only by his love of posting vitriolic and personally insulting comments aimed at anyone who disagreed with even the most minor element of something he wrote. Eventually the mods got so bored with him they banned him, permanently. Rumour has it that their workload immediately dropped by two thirds.Who is hedley ? What does he fly around the GTA so we can all be weary?
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

[quote="Colonel Sanders"]Sir: clearly I know nothing of what I speak.
What gives man? No one is saying you don't know anything!
Experience, politics, points of view and knowledge aside, dont you think there's a better way to communicate with pilots who share the same passion?
I just want to be a better pilot.. a safer one.. and I wish the same for all my colleauges on here.
Is that not your wish as well?
And yeah i realize i sound like a big p*ssy...but c'mon, have a beer, chill out and shoot the sh*t with some of us who may not know as well as you do.
Just my two cents...

I would also like to point out that I know nothing about
CZBA. I built a hangar there in 1980, and everyone here was
flying there for decades before that, so please disregard
everything I said about CZBA, as it obviously has no value.

Re: Burlington Airpark (CZBA)
I have to second the idea of being at a different altitude and a bit wider. Where I work we often have to take a Dash 8 into a circuit that has a few 152s and Cherokees in it. We always go a few hundred feet higher and quite a bit wider. It always works quite well given the speed difference between the aircraft types.

mcrit, I'd like to know a bit more about being higher in the faster plane. I'm thinking it's to make it safer to go by if you have to, true?

Does flying above the slower traffic make it easier to fit in?

Re: Burlington Airpark (CZBA)
Sir. Your have a superior knowledge base and experience which, as aviators, we all find valuable. No one is disupting that. I'm not being sarcastic here. If you are indeed the new Hedley, then I thank you for the 2 inch binder at my desk, mostly from the training forum, which is full of insightful comments from you, Sir. Comments such as looking for shadows from other planes when turning base to final. This type of insight is greatly appreciated from people with barely triple digits of experience....Colonel Sanders wrote:I would also like to point out that I know nothing about

I just don't understand the attitude. Is everyone else here beneath you because they don't have over 10,000 of experience and haven't done low level aerobatics with (insert name here) and flown XXX types of aircraft? What's your beef with people who might be less educated than you? or less experienced than you?? Or maybe just improperly trained???
Re: Burlington Airpark (CZBA)
With all due respect to all the other bother here. If i am in a piston single and a king air , jet or other turbine shows up and comes anywhere near the circuit I am in, I get out of the way.
They burn ungodly amounts of fuel down low, and I can give em 5 mins of my time anytime, it only costs me one gallon or less to do it. Most of us are up for fun anyhow so 5 mins more of it is good. I also dont have them breathing down my neck on final that way. I think it is just courtesy to give way to them, and they usually say thanks for it! it is probably safer than having them roaring around in a crowded circuit as well, no matter how hard they try to look etc, they are faster, bigger, have more inside tasks to perform, have smaller windows etc. (and they are distracted worrying about both stopping on the relatively short skinny runway, and missing all of us little guys stooging around as well LOL)

Re: Burlington Airpark (CZBA)
I'll be honest...in the little jet I fly I stay at 1500 AGL at an uncontrolled airport circuit.
This is most likely not as per proper procedure but 152's in a circuit can travel pretty damn slow and if that 500 feet gives me a bit of safety margin then I'll use it....it's already come in handy!
As long as everyone's broadcasting their intentions and positions properly, things stay safe.

Re: Burlington Airpark (CZBA)
Just checked my logbook for 2011. So far, in eleven months, I haveIs everyone else here beneath you because they don't have over 10,000 of experience .. what's your beef with people who might be less educated than you? or less experienced than you?? Or maybe just improperly trained???
given 207.3 hours of dual flight training and god knows how much PGI.
I have recommended three initial instructor candidates and given plenty
of hairy tailwheel, high-performance homebuilt, warbird, aerobatic, formation
and formation aerobatic and multi-engine and instrument training that no
other flight instructor in Canada will do.
This fall I also I wrote a bunch of articles (and there are plenty more coming)
arising from the decades of flight training that I have given:
http://tinyurl.com/cxu8d6b
And that's not good enough for you.
I will admit that I have a tough time taking seriously low-time pilots, whom
learned to fly last week, when they lecture me on how to fly a military jet which
I issue type ratings on. Absurd does not begin to describe such a ridiculous
scenario, and I apologize if I have a tough time keeping a straight face when
encountering such nonsense.

Colonel Sanders, you should really change your outfit...this one is starting to stink.
