I've been told the MRO won't be proceeding now that Wayne is gone.

As for the hangar, it has a lovely red roof. I don't know what (if anything) is planned for it.

Wayne ?

"Edit Note"

Crap ,.....I just googled and learned of Waynes passing
Am really sorry to hear this as I always enjoyed talking with him.
Many evenings at Guelph I would be working on the Finch and Wayne would stop by.
He would drop by there for no other reason than he just liked to keep in touch with the small side of aviation.
Last time he dropped by he invited me to come over to see the new Operation he was starting at Waterloo
Wish I would have taken him up on it sooner

Wayne thanks for being a good guy ... you always treated me well .

Obituary Written by his son Dellen.

WAYNE C. MILLARD Wayne C. Millard has passed. He is survived by son Dellen Millard.

For those who wish to gather in fond memory of Wayne, there will be a reception from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Vinsanto Ristorante, 28 Roytec Road, Vaughan, ON. What few words could make comment here... His hope was for a time when cooperation would be the norm and competition was only friendly. He was frugal with himself and generous to others.

The only people he feared were racists. He would answer a question with a story. He stepped carefully while advocating carefreeness. He could read and write five languages. He was patient and stubborn. He admired Christ, Gandhi and Lindbergh. He believed animal welfare was a humanitarian effort. He was a good man in a careless world. He was my father.

A Master Pilot... Many who knew Wayne Millard, knew him as a pilot. Rightfully so, as he defined himself by the responsibilities of the trade. I now carry his pilot's license in my wallet. It's a good photo. Beside it are noted the type certificates he held. It's a long list from B747s and B757s, to DC3s and L101s, to BH47s and HU500s.

For Father piloting wasn't just his job, it was his freedom. A Humanitarian... Wayne supported, organized, and helped fund many missions on behalf of animal welfare. Sponsor a Dog, the Canadian Flora & Fauna Society, Canadian Wildlife Film Productions, the Sea Shepherd Society and the Toronto Humane Society, only to name a few. He saw a future for mankind where we do not pollute our environment or subjugate animal lives to our industry. He was a man of vision.

Yet To Be Realized... His last, still unlaunched, animal welfare mission is accepting donations to the 'Elizabeth Glass Animal Welfare Fund', 5 Maple Gate Court, Etobicoke, ON M9C 2K4. He believed we can make a difference in the world. With Wayne in my heart, I believe we must.

I was taken back by the news and also googled it. There is a Guest Book that is available until Jan 13/2012, for messages to the family.

Porter: Running out of room at YTZ.

Westjet: Can't get Bay 3 from Skyservice.

Skyservice: Couldn't get Bay 2 from the GTAA (Westjet must have thrown more money or a tantrum to get it).

Skyservice: North end YYZ facility rented out - needs more room.......

Kelowna: Is YHM too expensive?

I think the industry is growing again right now.
By sure, some one has visited this new facility equipped with tools for A-320 and all Boeing 737 Series.
Not sure who has interest on it.

The hangar was being searched by police in response to Tim Bosm'as disappearance and Millard was arrested/charged in relation. Interesting.

Mother’s Day is a time for family reunions and all Mary Bosma wants is just that.

The mother of Tim Bosma, the 32-year-old Ancaster man who went missing last week while showing his truck to a pair of potential buyers, issued a passionate plea for her son’s safe return Sunday.

“This Mother's Day my prayer and my wish is that Tim will come home safe to his wife and daughter,” she told reporters gathered in front of the Bosma home.

She said the family has been going through a very rough and emotional week.

“We don't know where he is, if he’s safe and who’s got him. I love him and I miss him so much,” she said. “Even though police have made an arrest, he is still not home with us. My heart is broken, I love him so much.”

Saturday morning, Hamilton Police arrested Dellen Millard, a young pilot, off-road car racer and the inheritor of a family flying company. He was charged with forcible confinement and theft over $5,000.

Police believe Millard, 27, and an accomplice had taken a similar test drive with a Toronto man selling his truck before Bosma’s disappearance.

Millard was identified by a distinctive tattoo on his wrist of the word “ambition.”

The other man, described as white, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10, with a small to medium build and dark hair, remains at large.

On Friday, police found Bosma’s cellphone and tracked the phone they believe Millard used to contact him in Brantford. They believe Bosma’s truck, a black Dodge Ram with the Ontario licence place number 726 7ZW, was in downtown Brantford around 10:10 p.m. last Monday.

They are asking the public to call them with any information relating to the case at 1-905-546-2100.

Just to close the loop for me on this, Dellen Millard would be the grandson of Carl Millard? I knew and respected Carl, and lost track of Millardair after Carl's passing....

who soloed both fixed and rotary wing on his birthday!

I didn't think it was that long ago ...

This disappearance is not going to end well. With two folks missing and a truck found? I think it will be a very unhappy ending no matter how many folks are found alive at the end of it, very ,very serious business.

My guess on motive is drugs somehow. Why else would young guys "allegedly" go after another these days.

Given that the only reference you have to back that up is a voice in your head, how about you do everyone a favour and just shut up.

You have any better ideas? Face it, humans fight only over sex or money. So unless there's a girl involved somewhere I'm going with mine. What have you got you lose? You sound kind of emotional for someone who's "not involved". I'd keep quieter if I was you.

I was surprised to see only one police cruiser parked outside the hangar most of the day today (and half a dozen media vans on the street).

Millard's lawyer says his client is "shocked" by the accusations. Going to be an interesting story to explain how this is all some crazy coincidence.

Difficult to explain a sense of shock when you have the described tattoo and the truck was found at your mother's place. But hey, innocent until proven guilty right?

I remember hearing a story about the (then) Millardair hangar at YYZ being rented out or used as a venue for several raves by the grandson of Carl Millard. Can anyone confirm hearing this story? Apparently this Dellen guy has a liking for recreational drugs (based on a twitter post someone screen captured).
