C123 in Eastern Ontario

Post by ettw »

Outside working on the lawn tractor north of Cornwall and off in the distance I heard the wonderful rumble of a couple of round engines. Sure enough overhead passes what I'm sure was a C123! It was westbound.

Any ideas where it might have been headed?

Cheers

There was one that went to Montreal on the 14th...my guess is it was them doing some local VFR flying. What time did you see it?

That's what that was! Passed overhead inbound to YUL around lunchtime on Sunday. I was in Lachine at the time.

Linecrew, it was about 1130 or so. Beautiful sight to be sure!

Hahaha! I just noticed that the nose art on N22968 says "Thunder Pig"...and according to Flightaware, they file the aircraft type as TPIG/T. :D

Maybe it was Barry and the boys with another big load.

Provider

A Pilatus Porter can be fast parked inside one quite effectively- at least RD Jr can make it happen in a pinch.

I was just thinking the same! Double Crossed is one of my favorite movies.

This was the scene, just southwest of Lachine:

Here is somewhere in the states. I found it interesting they don't use flaps for takeoff.

Are the jets still functional on that aircraft or are the pods there just for show?

I think I remember seeing 'through' them a couple times when watching Air America...
