Shirts
My present gig requires the white shirt with the flappy shoulder bits. All my last ones were 'retired' into rags a few years ago.
Where do you guys recommend to purchase new ones? Good quality, long sleeve, tapered fit.
Looks like Aviation World is sold out. Any other sources to order from?
Cheers.

Re: Shirts
The place next to aviation world in YYZ had a much better selection and significantly higher quality for the same price. I will try to find the name of it or in the meantime someone may jump in.

I wish they would change the pockets on the shirt...I've had my phone fall out so many times without the little pocket flap other brands havecapt.pilot wrote:Online from A Cut Above.. Really good quality in different cuts and styles..

Re: Shirts
I have flaps on my pockets and don't have any problems, but then in 2010 on the way back from antarctica I had a phone come out of my pocket on the wing of a DC3T and drop into the wing right beside the open tank. I thought it was a gonner, but they guys in Calgary de-riveted a couple lines and out she came, along with a good pair of sidecutters that had been in there for a while..
Good luck..

Re: Shirts
Taking a look on their site it seems you get flaps with the tapered and fitted shirts. I get the relaxed which apparently don't come with flaps for some reason...weirdcapt.pilot wrote:I have flaps on my pockets

Re: Shirts
If you live in a city, look in the yellow pages for a uniform supply store. They often carry or can get in the typical pilot shirts.

Thanks very much.
Acutabove has a European branch which suits me better being in the UK.
Looks like quality stuff...

Re: Shirts
Anyone have a problem with a cut above being a slight cream color as opposed to the bright white most pilot shirts are?

Re: Shirts
Love my cut above shirts. Will order from them again. I did have one with a funky collar and a small mark on it, sent back no problem. As for colour? Find mine nice and white.
As for care, what do you all recommend for washing? I find the following keeps them good: Detergent, Borax and Bleach in hot water. I also spray the collars with some spot cleaner to keep the ring around the collar away. Then a good hot iron. Use a little spray starch on the collar to keep em crisp. Of course always a white undershirt to keep the pit stains away and what not.
