A sad day, and with all the You Tube clips coming out my children will now find the source for a lot of my one-liners......
Still remember his appearance at the Royal Variety Performance... "Why did the Monkey fall out of the tree? 'cos he was DEAD"
One of the comedians who defined my late teens/early twenties. Have to go find and buy a DVD of Bottom now.....

"Have you any idea what it's like to have the wind rushing through your hair, George?"
"He does..."

Rik's comedy career and TV shows entertained a generation back in the UK in the early 80s. Many people of my age grew up on The Young Ones.
As an aside to a sad loss, his comedy partner Adrian Edmondson's father, was an Air Traffic Controller in the UK and gave me my first tower tour in 1986. I started ATC training the following year. Small world.
