Your French Lesson for Today

Post by tonyhunt »

You don't have to be able to read French, there is a photo .....

I don't think there are many other Canadian families with a similar history in aviation.

Thanks to Google Translate...
In addition, Andrew Boyd claims that Sir George Cayley is part of his family tree. "He was the first to identify the four forces that affect flight: thrust, drag, lift and weight," says Andrew Boyd. Sir Cayley designed and built a glider in the 1850s, well before the first flight of the Wright brothers."
Neat! He also proposed the first tension-spoke bicycle wheels that are still the standard today. CS should update the Wikipedia page to show the lineage right up to his flying descendants... :)

Further thanks to Google Translate:
Mr. Boyd remarked that Quebec is lucky to have him and his son come to Quebec to perform. "Between Transport Canada's ass-backwards incompetence and your Quebecois nanny-state, we could barely stomach the thought of entering your ambition destroying socialist utopia", said Mr. Boyd.

I wish I had been aware of their presence in time and could have arrange to attend the event and shake their hands. At least, a few of my close friends did and I hope Andrew and Eric enjoyed the place and its people.

Next time, hopefully!

Wow, no matter the good news story here, some dickhead posters still manage to diss Quebec and TC for no reason whatsoever... Is this a natural AvCanada syndrome that you gotta have diarrhea of the mouth and cant just say anything positive? Kudos to the aerobatic family, no matter their background.

Actually, he was just expounding the Colonel's views in a very funny way. Or was just that very dry sarcasm on your part? Chill out...we make jokes about BC, Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba regularly here.
