Aviation Industry Forecast

Post by BenniFlyer »

Hello, I'm looking to find links that would include short term and long term forecasts for the aviation/airline industry. I've had trouble finding relevant data that is up to date and with a Canadian connection. So far the most recent information I have found from TC is from 2009.

All input is appreciated in advance!

According to your local air school you will get on a king air right out of commercial ground school and a year later you will be right seat at Westjet mainline.... You came right now at the right time. Just make a large deposit on your account and we will be all set for you to be living the dream!

This is the forecast for the aviation industry for 23 Sep 2014 issued at 1530Z. Valid until further notice or something changes.

Forecast calls for general instability in the area with scattered layoffs. 50% probability of ramp duty in the first years of the forecast period. Variable employment opportunities and work pressure increasing steadily with little accumulation. Temporary, foreign workers from 1600Z until end of forecast.

Well according to what I've heard from flight schools, there is a huge shortage of pilots. All of the planes will be grounded pretty soon because pilots are retiring, so better start traing and get ready to be rich!

Naw in three years the planes will be remote controlled by "Flight Managers." They can keep tabs on two hundred planes using four of them based anywhere in the world. Gilles won't be able to bully the companies by demanding jobs for Canadians anymore. Profits will be way up and they can drop the first piece of luggage fee by $5.

I think you mean "only increase the first piece of luggage fee by $15 instead of $25".

The latest I heard is pay went to $475, but it's a 24 year contract with a PMA to fly something shiny for $500.
