Speed after leaving the hold

Post by 1000islander »

Hi guys...this question deals with speed after leaving the hold. Not sure if this varies from one terminal to another but lets use YZ. With 33 ops, we sometimes get issued a hold. After slowing to clean speed and holding, do you expect us to maintain the holding speed or revert to 250 once cleared out of the hold and inbound to YZ?
Btw, big improvements to traffic flows 20 years ago...no long lines on the taxiways or inbnd. Cheers.

I don't work in YYZ but I would 99% assign a speed to someone exiting the hold or specify speed at your discretion.

The controller will usually tell you what they want but most times they'll be expecting you to speed up.
