Wait what? Terminal IFR is only a 2 person class? Why is it so small?navcanhopeful wrote:Good for you. Its only a 2 person class to start, so people shouldn't get their hopes to high.
The terminal course is a generic course. You are just going to be assigned to a terminal unit. Many ACC's have more than one.navcanhopeful wrote:You're being specifically trained for YWG terminal unlike the generic class where you can be broken off into 1 of 5 specialties. You already know yours, 2 of you will start from the beginning for generic terminal IFR, then once completing that a senority bid will join you for your specialty terminal training.
Incorrect. YWG ACC only has 1 terminal unit. The rest are intergrated into the specialties. At first it will be the generic portion, after that you will be trained for YWG terminal.Braun wrote:The terminal course is a generic course. You are just going to be assigned to a terminal unit. There is only one Terminal unit in YWG. I know that. What I said was that they still do the same Generic Terminal course as every other ACC. You aren't trained off the bat just for YWG. You still do the 5-6 month national Generic Terminal course and then move to specialty training. For people in ywg this would be for sure YWG Terminal but they could also be sent to other subunits depending on skills, staffing and other causes. The Generic course, Enroute or Terminal, still remains a Generic course and you technically could be sent anywhere for the above mentioned reasons. It is rare but it can happen.navcanhopeful wrote:Incorrect. YWG ACC only has 1 terminal unit. The rest are intergrated into the specialties.
