Departures out of YYC

Post by Dispatch »

What SID/route do the majority of airlines file when heading over to Europe....
J505 GRETO DCT MEETO
DCT GRETO J505 MEETO or
J505 GRETO J505 MEETO

Curious, some discussion has come up with in our department regarding this issue

Any guys/gals from CZEG Ctr shed some light on this, would be great

Thanks

Not in CZEG ACC, OR a flight planning expert, but PRETTY sure you're NOT supposed to include a SID in your flight plan? And aren't there preferred IFR routes out of all the major airports in the planning section of the CFS? Can't say I've looked lately, but there always were.

I'm sure an expert can can correct me if I'm wrong.

lilfssister: Yes, you are correct, SIDs are not supposed to be included in a flight plan.

However, the routes mention are not SIDs, and I think Dispatch just used that term loosely. . .

The preferred routing out of YYC to the NorthEast is J505 YWV //flightplaned//.

J505 YWV....check that
Thanks for your help on the matter
and yes, there are no proper sids in Canada to file
Europe does however have SIDS that are filed on the flight plan
Thanks again
