Floatyghost: two regions? I thought they recruited and hired regionally now, how are you up for two regions? I'm curious.

Haha, I'm already in the company. Cross-training, so I guess I have some perks. I've been told that I've passed my interview and testing. Medical and background isn't an issue obviously, so now I'm just waiting to find out when and where. One of the other people that wrote the test with me (there were only 3 of us) has been told that they are going to YYZ for VFR.

I'm kind of hoping that I get to stay in Pacific region, but YWG is home, so I'd be happy with either. Right now, I guess I'd be happy with anything. I just want to start the course already

I too am in the company already, waiting for a YYC VFR Training course to start. They told me February.

Are you going through EOCO, or the LOS cross-training offer?

LOS cross training. But I think I'm eligible for EOCO next year, so I might just wait for that.

Well, it seems the national recruitment center isn't giving away information anymore. They are no longer revealing to applicants:

-if and when training groups for an area are to begin
-or the number of seats in the next group
-or if and when the calls will go out for the next group

//I applied in February so I guess that means I have until August of next year to be inducted into training. Gotta keep my fingers crossed I guess.

I've been told there is an upcoming VFR course in YEG for August...would rather have YVR though.

Affirmitive... they want to run one more course this year, should be starting in the fall. Expect course load of 4-6 students.

There was talks of me being on that course, but my manager informed me that due to higher staffing than expected at the towers, they were planning on cancelling the course.

Apparently I'm now just waiting to get on the fall course.

Of course this is all just rumours, so who knows....

Yes it went through. I know it started with one student only on a special assignment only due to "over staffing" But I heard rumors about another being added.
