In Person Interview Results Taking a Long Time

Post by nfpeanut »

Anyone else feel like their in-person interview results are taking or took a long time? I'm heading into week 7 now waiting for my results from that final step in the process...I've called recruitment and she says we have a back log. For three weeks straight now she's told me she hopes this week, this week, this week. I had my in person at the beginning of March. Anyone else on here had their interview around the same time and are still waiting for results, or have recently received them? (I'm in YEG region btw...)

Hoping you hear soon! If I get to my 2nd interview I would hate to wait so long.

I did my 2nd interview in the middle of February (YYZ). Going on 9 weeks now. I called last Friday and was told I'd know "this week."

I doubt it always takes this long. They tell you in the interview 3-4 weeks tops. (In my case he actually told me 2-3 weeks though). I believe I seen that FlyHigh had an answer at two weeks...I assume it will just depend on time of year as well. As far as I can tell they do lots of assessments in the spring and fall so maybe their workload is higher at these particular times. Just unlucky for us maybe who get caught up in these periods??

How long does it take to time out of the process? What point does the "time" start?

From what I can gather it is 18 months for a candidacy to expire. I was told I had 18 months from my phone interview. I am not sure though if it starts over again from my in person interview? Maybe it starts overs from every stage? I was unable to clarify this as I did ask it in my in-person interview. The recruiter in Edmonton said he didn't know because he personally has never seen anyone expire in that region.

I've been told by recruitment it's measured from your most recent step in the process.

How long does it generally take from passing the in-person exam to getting the call for the phone interview?

I did my written assessment on Oct. 4 and my phone interview happened on Oct. 24. They called me about a week before that though to set up the phone call appointment. I'm sure it could be different for other people though, but in my case it was that quick.

I'm hoping my time frame is similar. I wrote the assessment on the 3rd, hoping to hear later this week about an interview for some time next week or the following week.

I called again today for an update and was told that in-person interview results would be up "within the next 2 weeks." Pretty much the same story I've been getting since the end of February. :?

Is it possible that it is because fall courses aren't planned yet (or at least I don't think they are, May/June right?) and therefore they don't have a handle on numbers?

Well...when I had my interview he told me that in YEG there would be FSS course in August, and then IFR/VFR would be in September. He told me they have their training schedule completed up until Fall 2016.

Is that right? The girl who did our assessment in YQX stated that planning had only been done up until April 2014. She said the decision and planning for courses would come out in May/June for the next round of training.

I wonder if it is done regionally

I would say most likely it is done regionally. As far as I understand there is some sort of process where in June(ish) there are postings that indicate what vacancies will be coming available in each region. I think that might just be for internal though maybe? I dunno. The recruiter that I spoke with told me for Edmonton they are aware of all the training sessions they will be doing for the next 2 years. He may NOT KNOW how many seats will be available though, just that there will be sessions.
