Nice Job, CYTZ tower
Just a quick "hats off" to CYTZ tower staff this morning before 9am, who had two 150s and 172 in the circuit, an inbound Piaggio and several Dash-8's and one or two helicopters in and out all in the space of a few minutes, as well as a boat doing work in the marine exclusion zone. Nobody suffered anything more than a slightly extended circuit. Perhaps it was as easy as you made it look, but anyway, nice job.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
photofly must be buttering up the tower staff so they'll let him do his photo sessions in the approach path of the 747s
Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
Lol. Actually the tower staff have always been extremely accommodating.

I have never had a problem with YTZ staff, they always seem very accommodating with a lot of patience for the undoubtedly endless downtown tours.
Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
Yup, I gotta agree, CYTZ are very accommodating, and go the extra mile to make pilots feel welcomed. A few weeks ago I stopped on my way home to take my 93 year old aunt for her first light aircraft flight. (I had to convince her that if she'd survived everything else for 93 year, she was hardly at risk in a Cessna!). Anyway, as I said I would, I phoned to tell her the time we would meet. Well, I guess she got excited, as she arrive to CYTZ three hours early, to sit and wait for me.
When I taxied in, the ground controller told me that she was waiting for me. It did not quite click just then, but there must have been a story about how my aunt, who has never seen my plane, would be connected to me by ATC, as I taxied in. Someone at ATC did some quick registry research!
Aunt's ride went flawlessly, and the welcome and care was appreciated....

+1. --- and also to YKF tower -- they had a similar day today -- several students in the circuit, jet traffic, couple of Ifr students doing approaches to the cross runway, and happily accommodating my request for a hold right over the airport -- picked my plane from annual so thought I'd do a few turns there and check everything out. Thanks YKF!
Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
Hats off to the controllers in CYQT! Five 172's in the circuit, multiple inbound and outbound 172's on PA flights, plus constant IFR arrivals and departures by encore, jazz, bearskin, ornge (Helicopters and Fixed Wing), wasaya, porter, bravo, thunder, north star, skycare, etc... and this is on a daily basis! Those guys do an amazing job!
Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
I haven't been there in at least three years but I do remember being impressed by the way traffic was handled there at that time.

Re: Nice Job, CYTZ tower
Wry smile on my face as I read this thread...given the "VFR service" thread in the ATC forum....especially as Mr Photofly is giving the compliment for YTZ. Seems the weather recently has played ball and been conducive to good VFR flying conditions.
Any "looking for higher" Westbound trips off the island recently for comparisons?

No needs for smiles - credit where it's due. CYTZ tower staff are very accommodating in the control zone. The other thread was about Terminal's class C - different controllers, different airspace.

Married -- and I will leave out my callsign as not to be unjustly accused of bucking for favors -- YYZ terminal is very good IMO, and a lot more accommodating than other terminal environments I've visited. Most of the staff I've heard are awfully patient even with the hundred word student calls. More patient than I am.
You guys have helped me a lot, especially when sent a IFR Flt Pln over from the flight plan desk that sends me the long way up lake Huron and we have to rework it in the air occasionally...

I think you made your supreme satisfaction with Terminal's service to you abundantly clear in the other thread, a thread you are welcome to revive at your leisure. This one is about good service from CYTZ tower controllers.

I went there for my CPL x-country and they were very patient with me when I missed the handoff from ground to tower on departure. Very cool airport to fly in to!

Nice to see PF is humanly capable of kudos, on the other hand.
Turn right/left heading XXX, vectors for the hell of it.
