Summary
Supply chain operations consist of all the steps required to bring a product to market. The manager of supply chain operations is often required to manage wide-ranging aspects of the supply chain process, such as procurement, quality and warehousing of materials, inventory control, and distribution of finished goods. Also forecast demand, analyze inventory and troubleshoot issues that can affect supplies. The manager of supply chain operations applies practices to respond to business challenges and help to advance organizational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, and distribution of all received items
• Tour the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations, and solve problems
• Ensure that inventory is accurate and organized at all times
• Perform accurate and timely physical counts related to warehouse productivity and accuracy as directed by management
• Meet shipping goals and performance standards
• Maintain responsibility for all vehicles and equipment
• Ensure timely deliveries
• Maintain location cleanliness and supply levels
• Ensure location security (opening/closing procedures) when necessary
• Track vehicle maintenance schedules
• Manage and direct accurate and timely use of all processes
• Enforce and lead safety programs for all employees
• Responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement initiatives for warehouse operations
• Drives Continuous Improvement to quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs, quality, and service
• Train and educate the organization and implement continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean, and OEE
• Ensures product quality, establishes and manages systems for “right first time” performance standards
• Develop and implements daily equipment allocation plans
• Ensures implementation of sound maintenance programs
• Manages the planning of space utilization to meet cost standards and productivity goals
• Evaluate space utilization, suggests methods for improving layout designs and manages the relocation and consolidation of product as required
• Ensures proper stock rotation schedules
• Maintains and updates accurate inventory records
• Assist with the development of systems aimed at maintaining inventory security
• Supervises the use of product locator system to ensure optimal utilization of space and consolidation
• Ensures accuracy of all receiving and shipping activities, documents, associates, and operations
• Ensures all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis
• Periodically reviews operating goals and standards
• Manages the recording of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes
• Makes recommendations for changes in customer service programs as necessary
• Attend and participates in meetings as required
• Other duties as assigned by the VP Supply Chain

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of seven years experience in warehouse operations.
• College degree preferred
• Experience with Warehouse Management and ERP systems
• Heavy usage of Lean and Six Sigma to improve processes and coach others
• Hazmat certified
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement deployment across a organization
• Demonstrated experience implementing quality/ process improvement initiatives
• Ability to work collaboratively to achieve common goals
• Proficient with current software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook
• Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Open to limited travel as needed for training or to support other warehouses (up to 35% travel)
